The program aimed to raise awareness about the importance of literacy in building an inclusive, informed, and progressive society.

Director Mr. G. Hemanth Reddy, in his address, emphasized:

Literacy is essential for enjoying human rights and freedom, and for creating a society free from discrimination. It lays the foundation for individuals to develop harmonious relationships, acquire knowledge, skills, and values. Nations with higher literacy rates tend to experience better healthcare, employment opportunities, and overall development, while those with low literacy levels struggle with backwardness, unemployment, and violence. Literacy is not a luxury, but a necessity for national progress,” he stated.

Mr. Ratna Ramireddy explained:

“Literacy is the ability to read, write, speak, and listen effectively in order to understand the world around us. In today’s digital era, it also includes the ability to learn and use technology, which is known as digital literacy. Promoting education for all is the core message of this day. Education is a basic right, and everyone should have access to it. Most importantly, that education should contribute positively to society.”

Mr. Palle Sathik, in his remarks, said:

International Literacy Day is observed every year on September 8. One of the primary reasons many countries lag behind in development is due to illiteracy. Literacy empowers the youth, enhances their abilities, and paves the way for national development. Education for women, in particular, is extremely important. Therefore, every individual must pursue education for both personal and societal growth.”

The event concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.

Principal K.B.V. Subbiah addressed the gathering, saying:

“Every year, on September 5th, we celebrate Teachers’ Day on the occasion of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s birthday. In everyone’s life, the first teachers are mother and father, followed by the Guru. Mātṛ Devo Bhava, Pitṛ Devo Bhava, Āchārya Devo Bhava—these three are most important in our lives. Respecting them is our duty. They teach us valuable lessons, stand by us in all aspects, and guide us towards progress. As a teacher myself, I too wish that you all listen to your teachers, follow their guidance, and live in a way that benefits society.”

Senior lecturer M.V.V. Mohan Rao shared his views, saying:

“Respecting and following a teacher is not as easy as it seems. The depth in a teacher’s words is not easily understood by everyone—it is grasped only by a few. Education is not just about learning, it must be useful for society. Every teacher wishes for that, and I hope you will also live in such a way.”

Sravani Kumari expressed:

“From the time I joined this college, I have been learning many new things from Principal Sir, Chairman Sir, Hemant Reddy Sir, and all my fellow teachers. In a way, all of you are like teachers to me. Understanding a teacher may be difficult, but every student must try to understand them. Teachers play a very significant role in everyone’s life—they help us achieve success by imparting knowledge. On this Teachers’ Day, I made all the students take a pledge to respect their teachers.”

Mandla Ratna Ramireddy said:

“The reason I am here today as a teacher is because of the teachers who guided me throughout my life. My first teachers were my parents, from whom I learned many values. Later, my teachers, colleagues, and even students have taught me valuable lessons. I thank them all, because of them I am in this teaching profession today.”

Palle Sadiq remarked:

“Every teacher wishes to see their students in great positions and contributing to the development of society. You must move forward in the right direction as your teachers expect, respect their guidance, and live in a way that is useful to society.”

Srikant expressed his gratitude, saying:

“Because of the inspiration of one of my teachers, I am standing here today as a teacher. I sincerely thank him on this occasion. Every person has such teachers in their lives. My love for English turned into my passion because of one such teacher. His way of teaching motivated me, and because of him, I was able to pass the DSC exam and secure a teacher post. For that, I am grateful to all my teachers. I wish you too will listen to your teachers and achieve great positions in life.”

Later, the faculty members together felicitated Principal K.B.V. Subbiah with honor. On behalf of the management, the faculty members S. Venkatarav, M.S.R. Prasad, M. Intiyaz Ahmad, Palle Sadiq, M.
