“Legal Principles Must Be Followed, Justice Should Be Swift” – Kashibhatla Shivaprasad, Retired District Judge An awareness seminar on International Justice Day (also known as World Day for International Criminal Justice) was held today, 17th July 2025, at Sri Ramakrishna Autonomous Degree College, Nandyal.

Chief Guest of the event, Retired District Judge Kashibhatla Shivaprasad, delivered an enlightening talk, raising awareness among students about the judicial system. He explained how the law punishes those who violate human rights, cause mass destruction, or instigate wars globally. He shared that International Justice Day is also referred to as International Criminal Justice Day. He emphasized that India has no history of initiating wars or massacres against other nations and that world history provides numerous examples of injustice and mass violence. Justice, he said, means fairness and reasonability. Shivaprasad urged students to reform their behavior and mindset and reminded them that those who forget history are doomed to repeat it. He emphasized that the law punishes wrongdoers based on the reasons behind their actions. On the topic of women’s rights, he said that womanhood exists in every element and that every woman should be respected. He warned that touching a woman without consent could lead to five years of imprisonment under Indian law. He recalled the 1971 war between India and Pakistan, which led to the creation of Bangladesh, mentioning that the Hindu population, which was 23% back then, has now declined to just 2–3%. He quoted Martin Luther King Jr. saying, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” He stressed that everyone should have awareness of the law and faith in the justice system. Particularly, women must be informed about their legal rights and protections in India. He concluded by stating that the principles of justice must be respected.

Chairman of Ramakrishna Educational Institutions, Prof. Dr. G. Ramakrishna Reddy, also addressed the students. He advised the youth to understand legal systems, stay away from bad habits, and avoid mistakes made in moments of anger that could ruin their future. He emphasized that ignorance is not an excuse under the law, and that once a person turns 18, they are fully responsible for their actions.

College Principal, Mr. K.B.V. Subbaiah, explained that the International Criminal Court plays a crucial role in tackling global terrorism and legal decisions. He remarked that crime rates are increasing and urged students to learn about laws and gain legal knowledge.

Assistant Professor, Ms. Pragathi Reddy, spoke about justice beginning with the individual. She emphasized the importance of treating others equally and fairly, and that justice is meant for everyone.

College students also spoke eloquently on the occasion. The chief guest, Mr. Kashibhatla Shivaprasad, was honored with a shawl and memento by the college management.

Faculty members including Dr. Lalitha Saraswathi, Vijay Kanth, Himabindu, Maddileti, and Mastan, along with many students, participated and made the event a success. The event concluded with the national anthem.

“Students with skills can become leaders” – V. Sreekanth Reddy, District Skill Development Officer

On the occasion of World Youth Skills Day (15-07-2025), an awareness seminar was held at Sri Ramakrishna Autonomous Degree College, Nandyal.

Chief Guest Mr. Sreekanth Reddy, District Skill Development Officer, emphasized the importance of skills for every individual. He stated that by learning skills, one can enhance their knowledge and even teach others at home. He highlighted that students can learn new skills through social media platforms. He encouraged students to become experts in tools like MS Excel and advised them to dedicate time to skill development.

He added that India has the highest youth population, and with the right skills, youth can initiate any task and succeed. He stressed that if youth acquire proper skills, they can become job creators instead of just job seekers. He urged students to focus on innovation and develop new skillsets. In addition to academic education, he emphasized the need to excel in practical skills as well.

Chairman of Ramakrishna Educational Institutions, Professor Ramakrishna Reddy, remarked that the era of securing jobs solely through marks and ranks is over. In today’s times, employers prioritize skills. He advised students to take advantage of online courses to gain skills, noting that such opportunities are rare and should not be missed. He encouraged the development of soft skills, language proficiency, and communication abilities.

He added that events like this inspire students. The college also has an incubation center equipped with facilities for students to develop their skills, and he encouraged them to make the best use of it.

College Principal, Mr. K.B.V. Subbaiah, explained to the students that World Youth Skills Day was initiated by the UN General Assembly on July 15, 2014. He emphasized the importance of youth contributing to the development of nations by acquiring relevant skills and warned against negligence in skill-building.

Assistant Professor, Ms. Pragathi Reddy, advised students to continuously update their skills, take initiative, and work on improving their talents and communication abilities. She encouraged using social media platforms wisely for skill enhancement.

College students also delivered impressive speeches during the event. The chief guest, Mr. Sreekanth Reddy, was felicitated with a shawl as a token of honor. Faculty members including Dr. Lalitha Saraswathi, Vijay Kanth, Himabindu, Muralidhar, Mahesh Gupta, and Shekhar, along with several students, actively participated and made the event a success. “Proud Alumni of SRKPG College, Nandyal – Reunion 2K25” Celebrated Grandly On Saturday, Sri Ramakrishna Degree College, Nandyal hosted a grand alumni meet titled “Proud Alumni of SRKPG College – Reunion 2K25” with great enthusiasm and participation.

The event was graced by esteemed guests including the Chairman of Sri Ramakrishna Educational Institutions, Professor G. Ramakrishna Reddy, Mrs. Vijaya Kumari, College Director Mr. G. Hemanth Reddy, and former faculty members Mr. Suresh Kumar, Ms. Bhargavi, Mr. Nagendra, Mr. Madhu Vishwanath, Mr. Mahendra Goud, and Mr. Venkatarao.

Former students from the 16 batches of MCA, MBA, MSc, BCA, and M.Com courses between 1998 and 2002 took part in the reunion. A dedicated core committee including K. Ramachandra Reddy, Adinarayana, Madhu Sudhan Babu, Suresh Kumar, Subba Chandra, Chandrasekhar Reddy Chaganti, Narendra Errala, Daniel, Chenchu Reddy, Jayaram, and Vishwanath organized and led the event with great passion and commitment to bring everyone together.

Former students collectively honored their beloved Principal Prof. G. Ramakrishna Reddy and Mrs. Vijaya Kumari, along with their former faculty members who contributed immensely to their academic journey.

World Population Day Observed at Sri Ramakrishna Degree College, Nandyal

On Friday, Sri Ramakrishna Degree College, Nandyal organized a program to mark World Population Day. The event was attended by College Director Mr. G. Hemant Reddy, faculty members Mr. Venkatarav, Ms. Lakshmi Durga, Ms. Ratna, Mr. Vijay Kanth, and numerous students of the college.

Students actively participated in the program and shared their views on the significance of World Population Day.

Speaking at the event, Director Mr. Hemant Reddy Garu said In contrast, countries like China have restricted such platforms and are directing their youth toward national development. We, too, should focus on developing our intellectual capabilities rather than being absorbed by social media. In earlier times, people would think deeply to solve problems. Now, with tools like Google and ChatGPT, people are relying less on their own intelligence.

This trend is more prominent in our country, and it’s essential that we guide our youth in the right direction so that India can progress.”

Ms. Ratna Reddy mam , addressing that On one hand, a rising population can lead to scarcity of essential resources. On the other, if we try to reduce the population growth rate too aggressively, it might result in a future shortage of youth, which can affect national development. To strike the right balance and spread awareness on such matters, we celebrate World Population Day every year.”

Mr. Vijay Kanth  sir told about the Artificial Intelligence (AI) is evolving rapidly and is becoming smarter than humans in some ways. As we continue to depend on technology, we’re using our brains less. If this trend continues, even with such a large population, we may remain underdeveloped.

That’s why we must channel the potential of our youth toward growth and innovation.”

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the leader of the Maratha Empire was successfully celebrated in the Degree College. The opening ceremony of this program was sung with a prayer song. Later the college director G. Hemant Reddy garlanded the portrait of Sir Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. First, the students spoke and explained the things in history about Chhatrapati Shivaji and his greatness. Many students came forward and gave great speeches about the greatness of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Teacher Ratna Rami Reddy addressed the students and told about the characteristics of the students and told them that Chhatrapati Shivaji’s life should be an example for the students to learn a lot from his insistence.

Mohan Rao also explained the greatness of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and said that Shivaji was a devotee of Kali Mata and also had supreme patience and therefore everyone should know about the things to which he dedicated his life. After that the director’s speech he described the qualities of the great warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji and asked the students to practice these qualities to become great. He suggested that students come forward to participate in reels and shorts competitions to give a message and address to the society. College Director G. Hemant Reddy Garu said that the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji is an ideal age for all, he always provided righteous and honest administration in his kingdom, and apart from that, he always trained his soldiers as heroes. It is very important for us to remember Shivaji today who had leadership qualities and did not back down in war. Every student is his leadership.

Sri Ramakrishna Degree College, SBI Colony Nandu Career Guidance and Placement Department organized an awareness program for students on Linked in Career Guidance on Thursday. Mrs. Divya working as Associate Technical Trainee in FACE PREP from Chennai city, Associate Aptitude Trainee Kalingapatnam Lithiya Garu Placement Officers and teachers and students of the college participated in this program as Chief Guest.
