Under the joint auspices of the local Sri Ramakrishna Degree College, District Youth Department and NSS, the birth anniversary celebrations of patriot, renowned educationist and former Union Minister Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee were held in a grand manner on Monday. The program began with a prayer by the college students. District Youth Officer Aijayya Garu, along with college representatives, paid floral tributes and lit the ceremonial lamp at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee’s portrait.

On this occasion, Aijayya Garu gave a detailed address to the students. He said:
“The role played by Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee in safeguarding India’s sovereignty and national integrity deserves to be written in golden letters in history. Not just as a political leader, but also as the youngest Vice-Chancellor of Calcutta University, the reforms he brought in the field of education are highly significant.
Every student must realize that the progress of the country lies in the hands of the youth. Today’s generation should not limit itself to personal growth alone, but should cultivate patriotism and discipline. While developing the best leadership qualities in society, they should come forward to render selfless service. Remembering the life and sacrifices of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, all youth must become partners in building a new India,” he called upon.

Later, the Chairman of the College, Dr. G. Ramakrishna Reddy Garu, spoke and praised the ideals of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee.
“Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee’s life, his ideals, and his struggle for the principles he believed in are a continuous source of inspiration for today’s youth. Students should not restrict themselves to just marks and ranks. Along with achieving the highest standards in education, they must uphold moral values and social responsibility.
For the welfare of society and for the development of the nation, everyone must do their part. No matter how many obstacles and hindrances come in the path of social service, we must stand with courage, take Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee as our role model, and move forward. The true tribute we can pay him is for all students to rededicate themselves to serving the nation,” he stated.

Grand Felicitation – Prize Distribution:
On this occasion, the college management felicitated District Youth Officer Aijayya Garu, who has rendered remarkable service in the fields of education and social welfare, with a shawl, garland and presented him a memento. Following this, as part of the celebrations, prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions conducted for students by Aijayya Garu.

The College Principal, teaching and non-teaching staff, and a large number of students participated in this program and offered floral tributes to Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee. On this occasion, all the students took an oath to remain committed to national progress and social service. The program concluded successfully with the singing of the National Anthem.
