A personal account must first be created on the Mendeley site based on the Mendeley web service. On the local computer side, it works in conjunction with a word processor plug-in or add-in (mandatory) and a desktop application (now optional for the latest current version).
The new “Mendeley Reference Manager Library” is cloud-based. On 7 September 2020, it replaced the previous “Mendeley Web Library”. He explained that this ensures that the latest changes are always saved in the cloud and references are available across multiple devices.

Day : 3

Today in Sri Ramakrishna degree college workshop was conducted on design thinking….how companies are being created and how innovative products came into the picture….

He said that this is a process for solving problems by prioritizing the consumer’s needs above all else. It relies on observing, with empathy, how people interact with their environments, and employs an iterative, hands-on approach to creating innovative solutions….

Design thinking has been a key factor in this change since 1940. It was Brian Lawson who popularized it. He is an architect and a psychologist too! In 1980, Brian wrote a book called ‘How Designers Think’. He started a research to explain more about the uniqueness of design thinking.

There are four main things to keep in mind while doing design thinking.

1. Human dimension

If we are working for a customer… we have to focus on his needs, thoughts and interests. To design an object, one must think about its use. To solve the problems in the society, we have to start from the suffering side (social innovation).

2. Be prepared for uncertainty

No matter how much knowledge one may have, no matter how many skills one may know. But if we want the solutions to be subservient to them… we have to impose limits on ourselves to everyone.
3. Variations

This is called ‘Redesign Rule’. Conditions vary. New challenges arise. Human needs do not change! That is why old inventions take on new forms as per need. Messages sent with pigeon are now mails. The idea is the same! Innovation is growing.

4. Realistic vision

It is not enough to have an idea. What matters is whether it yields results or not. In that effort, various models should be created if necessary. Realize the shortcomings in practice.

After the activity was assigned to the faculty they came up with the different problems later they used the design thinking process to solve the problems….at the end of the session question hour was being conducted The faculty raised various questions and they were answered by the resource person

He also conducted an activity for the faculty members by asking different questions
