Kargil Vijay Diwas Celebrated Grandly at Sri Ramakrishna Degree College
Nandyal, July 26: Kargil Vijay Diwas was celebrated with patriotic fervour at Sri Ramakrishna Degree (Autonomous) College, Nandyal. The programme began with a traditional welcome dance by the girl students, followed by a prayer song.
College Chairman Prof. G. Ramakrishna Reddy, Principal K.V.B. Subbaiah, NCC CTC Officers Lakshmi Durga and Shivraj, and Placement Officer M. Imthiyaz Ahmed participated in the programme.
NCC Officers Lakshmi Durga and Shivraj highlighted the courage, sacrifice and dedication of Indian soldiers during the 1999 Kargil War and urged students to uphold discipline, patriotism and a sense of responsibility towards the nation.
Principal K.V.B. Subbaiah said that the true tribute to the soldiers is for every citizen to contribute to the nation’s progress through honesty, discipline, ethical values and service.
Chairman Prof. G. Ramakrishna Reddy paid rich tributes to the Kargil martyrs and called upon students to remain committed to the unity, integrity and development of the nation. He also highlighted the importance of preserving India’s rich cultural heritage and briefly explained the significance of the four Vedas.
The programme concluded with the felicitation of students who presented the welcome dance and cultural performances. The event came to an end with the national anthem. Faculty members, non-teaching staff and a large number of students participated in the programme and paid homage to the brave soldiers.
