Sri Ramakrishna Degree College, Nandyal, successfully hosted the Rayalaseema University Inter-Collegiate Shuttle Badminton Tournament (Men & Women) for the academic year 2025–26 on Friday.
The event was inaugurated in the presence of distinguished dignitaries including Prof. G. Ramakrishna Reddy, Chairman of the College; Mrs. Vijayakumari, Physical Director; Mr. G. Hemanth Reddy, College Director; Dr. K.V. Shiva Kishore, Secretary of the Sports Advisory Board; and several Physical Education Directors and coaches from participating colleges.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. G. Ramakrishna Reddy emphasized the importance of sports alongside academics and encouraged students to compete with determination and sportsmanship. Mr. G. Hemanth Reddy highlighted the role of sports in enhancing physical and mental well-being, noting the participation of nine teams (five men’s and four women’s teams). Dr. K.V. Shiva Kishore and Mr. Nagarjuna appreciated the college management for providing excellent sports facilities and motivating students to excel beyond academics.
The program concluded with physical fitness tests for the athletes, followed by the commencement of the shuttle badminton matches.

Sri Ramakrishna Degree College, Nandyala, successfully hosted the Inter-Collegiate Shuttle Badminton Tournament (Men & Women), with students from nine colleges participating, including Osmania College, Government Degree College, Rayalaseema University Degree College (Kurnool), and Sri Ramakrishna Degree College.
Dr. G. Ramakrishna Reddy, Chairman of Sri Ramakrishna Educational Institutions, stated that many more sports competitions, including shuttle badminton tournaments, will be organized to encourage student participation in sports. College Director Mr. G. Hemanth Reddy emphasized that participation is more important than winning or losing and motivated students to continue showcasing their talent.
