Nandyal, August 14: As part of the 80th Independence Day Celebrations – 2026 Pre-Buzz Programme, Sri Ramakrishna Degree College (Autonomous), Nandyal, organised various activities promoting patriotism, social responsibility and environmental protection, in accordance with the directions of the Andhra Pradesh Government.

Around 100 students, including 50 NSS volunteers and 50 NCC volunteers, enthusiastically participated in the Tiranga Rally held in Nandyal on August 14. The rally proceeded from Market Yard to Gandhi Chowk, with students carrying the national flag and raising patriotic slogans in a disciplined manner.

NSS Programme Officers M. Sravani Kumari and T. Madhava Reddy guided the NSS volunteers, while the NCC volunteers participated under the leadership of NCC Coordinator Ms. Durga.

Following the rally, a plantation programme was organised on the college campus. NSS and NCC volunteers planted various saplings, creating awareness about environmental protection, greenery, climate change and sustainable development.

The programme conveyed the message that celebrating independence also means fulfilling our responsibility towards building a cleaner, greener, healthier and developed India.
