World Photography Day Celebrated at Sri Ramakrishna Degree College
Nandyal, August 19: Sri Ramakrishna Degree College (Autonomous), Nandyal, organised a programme to mark World Photography Day. Chief guest Dr. Vamsidhar Reddy and College Director Dr. G. Hemant Reddy participated in the programme.
Addressing the students, Dr. Vamsidhar Reddy said that photography is not merely about capturing an image, but is a powerful art that preserves history, emotions, culture, nature and unforgettable moments. A good photograph can convey many messages and help preserve memories for future generations. He appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the students.
College Director Dr. G. Hemant Reddy explained the importance of visual storytelling in modern digital media and encouraged students to develop technical and creative skills alongside their academic education. He said photography teaches people not only to see, but also to observe, think and appreciate beauty.
As part of the programme, three students were selected for outstanding photographs. Renuka Jalapathi, B.Sc. Final Year, secured first place and received a ₹2,000 cash prize. Kishore Chintan won second place with a ₹1,000 prize, while T. Mohammed Rafi, BCA Final Year, secured third place and received ₹500. The prizes were presented by Dr. G. Hemant Reddy and Dr. Vamsidhar Reddy.
