International Women’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Sri Ramakrishna Degree College, Nandyal. The programme was graced by Smt. S. Thangamani, Principal Senior Civil Judge, Nandyal, as the Chief Guest, along with Prof. G. Ramakrishna Reddy, Chairman of Sri Ramakrishna Educational Institutions; Smt. Vijaya Kumari, Secretary; Smt. A.S. Pragathi, Dean of Student Affairs; Sri K.B.V. Subbaiah, Principal; Dr. Uday Shankar; Dr. Satyavathi; faculty members and students.

The programme commenced with a welcome dance, prayer song, and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by vibrant cultural performances. Students also presented an inspiring fashion parade depicting women freedom fighters and highlighting their contributions to society.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Smt. S. Thangamani emphasized that women should pay special attention to their health, become financially independent, and stay aware of cyber safety measures. She encouraged young women to stand on their own feet, raise their voices against injustice, and make their parents and teachers proud through education and self-confidence.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. G. Ramakrishna Reddy advised girl students to make the best use of their college years by acquiring employable and self-reliant skills, avoiding distractions, and developing leadership qualities with determination and confidence. He conveyed his best wishes to all women on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

Smt. A.S. Pragathi highlighted that a series of motivational sessions had been organized during the previous six days to inspire students to believe in their abilities and pursue excellence. Smt. Vijaya Kumari extended her greetings and encouraged women to emerge as symbols of strength and empowerment. Sri K.B.V. Subbaiah and Dr. Uday Shankar also addressed the students, emphasizing the need for continuous learning, adaptability, and collective social progress.

The college management felicitated the Chief Guest, women faculty members, and students who had actively participated in various activities. Faculty members and students enthusiastically participated in the celebrations, making the International Women’s Day programme a grand success.
