Nandyal: The 80th Independence Day celebrations were held with patriotic fervour at Sri Ramakrishna Degree College (Autonomous), Nandyal. Chairman Prof. G. Ramakrishna Reddy unfurled the national flag and called upon students and youth to play a key role in the development of the nation and pursue their goals with determination.

The programme began with the singing of Vande Mataram. NCC students impressed the gathering with spectacular pyramid formations, while students presented colourful cultural and dance performances.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Ramakrishna Reddy recalled the sacrifices of the freedom fighters and highlighted the significance of India’s traditional knowledge systems and valuable information preserved in ancient palm-leaf manuscripts. He specially appreciated Harshitha for her impressive yoga performance and congratulated the students who participated in the cultural programmes.

College Director Dr. G. Hemant Reddy, Principal K.V.B. Subbaiah, Dean A.S. Pragathi and others urged students to use their education for the benefit of society and actively participate in service activities through NSS and NCC.

They called upon the youth to study with discipline and work towards building a developed India by 2047. The celebrations concluded with the National Anthem.
