Nandyal, August 3, 2026: International Commerce Day was celebrated at Sri Ramakrishna Autonomous Degree College under the auspices of the Department of Commerce. An awareness programme was organised for degree students, with Principal K.V.B. Subbaiah presiding over the event.

Addressing the students, Principal Subbaiah highlighted the growing importance of Commerce in the modern economy and spoke about career opportunities in CA, Company Secretary and other professional courses. He noted that more than 300 students join the Commerce programme at the college every year.

Head of the Department of Commerce Dr. D. Pullaiah explained the role of Commerce in the development of the national economy and provided students with practical insights into Accounting, Taxation and Auditing.

Commerce faculty members D. Masthan, Dr. Lalitha Saraswathi, Satyanarayana Reddy, Shekhar and Balachandrudu also addressed the students and encouraged them to pursue higher studies and develop practical knowledge. Dr. Lalitha Saraswathi highlighted India’s rich heritage of economic knowledge, referring to Kautilya’s Arthashastra and its relevance to commerce and administration.

The programme concluded with the National Anthem. Faculty members and students of the Commerce Department participated in the programme and made it a success.
