As part of the celebrations of International Women’s Day, the final session of the five-day awareness seminar series for students was conducted on Friday at Sri Ramakrishna Degree College, Nandyal. The seminars were organized with the objective of encouraging self-employment and empowering young women to become financially independent.

The seminar was attended by Dr. Neravati Swetha Gayathri (BDS, CC), Cosmetic Dental Surgeon, Swetha Super Speciality Dental Hospital, as the Chief Guest. Also present on the occasion were A.S. Pragathi, Dean of Student Affairs; Dr. Lalitha Saraswathi; Lakshmi Durga; and a large number of students.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Neravati Swetha Gayathri explained the true meaning of women empowerment, stating that women should strive to earn an income and lead dignified lives by relying on their own abilities rather than depending on others. She noted that the concept of women’s self-reliance is deeply rooted not only in modern society but also in ancient Indian epics and mythology.

She emphasized that every successful endeavor begins with a small step and that achieving success requires dedication, passion, financial planning, and the freedom to pursue one’s aspirations. She stated that earning money enables individuals to stand on their own feet and contribute meaningfully to their families.

Dr. Swetha Gayathri highlighted three important principles for aspiring entrepreneurs:

  1. Awareness of Investment: One should understand how purchasing or selling a product can generate profits and contribute to business growth.
  2. Business Strategy: Entrepreneurs should develop effective strategies to retain customers and encourage them to continue purchasing their products or services.
  3. Business Expansion: It is essential to learn how to expand and sustain a business over time.

She encouraged students by saying that determination and perseverance can help individuals achieve anything in life. She stressed that people should cultivate the mindset of “If not now, then when?” and that honesty and dedication are key factors in attaining great heights.

Being a dental specialist, she also advised students to maintain good oral hygiene by brushing their teeth twice a day to ensure healthy dental habits. She interacted with the students and clarified various doubts raised by them.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. G. Ramakrishna Reddy, Chairman of the College, stated that the primary objective of these seminars was to help students recognize and develop their self-potential and capabilities. He appreciated the efforts of A.S. Pragathi, Dr. Lalitha Saraswathi, and the women faculty members for successfully organizing the programs.

A.S. Pragathi, Dean of Student Affairs, remarked that the five-day seminar series was intended to inspire students to take successful women as role models and aspire to achieve similar heights in life. She emphasized that students should not wait for others to solve their problems but should learn to face challenges independently and work steadily towards their goals.

She observed that no one becomes proficient in any field overnight and that consistent practice and continuous learning are essential for success. She encouraged students to learn something new every day and explained that people admire others not merely for their physical appearance but for their personality, habits, values, and contributions to society.

She further advised students to maintain good relationships with others, communicate effectively, and lead happy and meaningful lives. She also expressed gratitude to Dr. Lalitha Saraswathi and the students for their cooperation throughout the five-day seminar series.

Lakshmi Durga stated that the seminars had provided valuable insights into women’s empowerment and had helped students take the first step towards identifying and achieving their life goals.

At the conclusion of the seminar, Dr. Neravati Swetha Gayathri was felicitated with a shawl and memento by A.S. Pragathi, Dr. Lalitha Saraswathi, Prathyusha, Lakshmi Durga, and the students in recognition of her inspiring address and valuable contribution to the program.
