Pre-Sankranti Celebrations Held with Grandeur at Sri Ramakrishna Degree College

The premises of Sri Ramakrishna Degree College came alive with vibrant pre-Sankranti celebrations, organized with the theme “Our Culture – Our Responsibility” to promote Indian traditions among students.

As part of the celebrations, rangoli competitions, kite-making activities, and traditional cooking contests were conducted, witnessing enthusiastic participation from students and creating a festive atmosphere on campus.

Addressing the gathering, Dean of Student Affairs Mrs. A. S. Pragathi stated that the celebrations were organized to make students understand the cultural significance of Indian festivals. Secretary of Sri Ramakrishna Educational Institutions, Mrs. V. Vijay Kumari, emphasized the importance of respecting and practicing traditions rather than treating festivals merely as holidays.

The chief guest, College Chairman Prof. G. Ramakrishna Reddy, delivered an inspiring address, highlighting that Sankranti symbolizes the spirit of Indian culture and values. Savitribai Phule Jayanti Celebrated at Sri Ramakrishna Degree College

Ramakrishna Degree College celebrated the birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule, wife of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and India’s first woman teacher, with great enthusiasm. The program was graced by the presence of College Chairman Dr. G. Ramakrishna Reddy as the chief guest.

Career Guidance Awareness Seminar at Sri Ramakrishna Degree College

Nandyal: A Career Guidance awareness seminar was conducted with great enthusiasm on Friday at Sri Ramakrishna Degree College (Autonomous), Nandyal, for the benefit of students.

The chief guest for the program was Mr. Mohammed Khalifa, an alumnus of the college (BBA, 2016–19) and currently working as a Business Analyst at CGI, Hyderabad. The seminar was organized under the guidance of Career Guidance Coordinator M. Imtiyaz Ahmed, with the participation of College Chairman Prof. G. Ramakrishna Reddy and Director G. Hemanth Reddy.

Addressing the students, Mr. Khalifa expressed happiness and pride in returning to his alma mater. The Valedictory Ceremony Of Spring Fest 2K25

The national-level student festival “Spring Fest 2K25” concluded grandly at Sri Ramakrishna Degree College, SBI Colony, Nandyal, showcasing the creativity, talent, and leadership skills of students. The fest was organized with the objective of enhancing professional skills and leadership qualities among students.

The valedictory ceremony was attended by Chairman Prof. G. Ramakrishna Reddy, Director Sri G. Hemanth Reddy, and Principal Sri K. B. V. Subbaiah. Addressing the gathering, Prof. G. Ramakrishna Reddy emphasized that students should go beyond textbook knowledge and actively participate in such platforms to build confidence, leadership, and problem-solving abilities. He stated that Spring Fest provided an excellent opportunity for students to discover their inner potential.

Director Sri G. Hemanth Reddy encouraged students to develop industry-oriented skills and reminded them that facing challenges with determination is the true meaning of success. Principal Sri K. B. V. Subbaiah appreciated the enthusiastic participation of students from various colleges and distributed prizes to the winners.

About 124 students from different colleges took part in competitions related to management, finance, technology, quizzes, presentations, and cultural events, displaying outstanding performance. Winners were awarded prizes in categories such as Finance (FinStar), PPT Presentation, Quiz, Best Manager, Solo Dance, and Fashion Parade.

“Spring Fest–2K25”

“Spring Fest–2K25”, a national-level degree students’ meet, was celebrated with great enthusiasm on Tuesday at Sri Ramakrishna Degree College, organized by the BBA Department. The event was graced by Sri Srikant Reddy, District Skill Development Officer (AP), as the chief guest.

The program began with a prayer song, followed by a vibrant Vande Mataram welcome dance performed by students. Addressing the gathering, the chief guest emphasized that in today’s competitive world, academic degrees alone are not sufficient. He highlighted the importance of soft skills and communication skills, especially for interview success, and encouraged students to make use of various government skill development initiatives.

College Director Sri G. Hemanth Reddy stated that while academic knowledge shows the destination, events like Spring Fest help students reach it by nurturing creativity, leadership qualities, and managerial skills. He urged students to actively participate in such platforms to shape their future careers.

A total of 129 students from various colleges across the region participated in the fest. The event was attended by Chairman Prof. G. Ramakrishna Reddy, Principal Sri K. B. V. Subbaiah, and conveners M. Sravani Kumari, P. Sadiq, and Intiyaz Ahmed.

A special encouragement program was organized at Sri Ramakrishna Degree College (Autonomous), Nandyal, to motivate the Rayalaseema University Shuttle Badminton team selected for the upcoming South Zone Inter-University Tournament.

The event was graced by Rayalaseema University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Venkata Basava Rao and Registrar Prof. Vijay Kumar Naidu as chief guests. The prestigious tournament is scheduled to commence from January 5, 2026, at Vijayawada and Rajahmundry. On this occasion, the chief guests distributed sports kits to the players.

Addressing the students, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Venkata Basava Rao emphasized the importance of excelling not only in academics but also in sports, stating that sports contribute to mental well-being and physical fitness. He urged the players to participate with true sportsmanship and bring national-level recognition to Rayalaseema University and their respective colleges.

234th Birth Anniversary of Charles Babbage

The 234th birth anniversary of Charles Babbage, the Father of Computers, was celebrated grandly on Friday, 26-12-2025, at Sri Ramakrishna Degree and PG College (Autonomous), Nandyal. The program was jointly organized by the Department of Computer Science and Applications along with students and faculty.

The event was attended by the College Director Sri G. Hemanth Reddy and Principal Sri K. B. V. Subbaiah. Faculty members and students paid floral tributes to the portrait of Charles Babbage.

As part of the celebrations, quiz competitions and PowerPoint presentations were conducted. Faculty members highlighted Charles Babbage’s contributions to modern computing, including his visionary concepts and inventions such as the Difference Engine and Analytical Engine, which laid the foundation for today’s computer technology.

Addressing the gathering, Principal Sri K. B. V. Subbaiah emphasized that although Babbage’s machines could not be fully built due to technical and financial limitations, his ideas on input, output, memory, and processing guided future generations. He stated that modern computers, smartphones, and artificial intelligence are outcomes of Babbage’s far-sighted vision.

Head of the Department Sri S. Venkata Rao encouraged students to draw inspiration from Babbage’s life, stressing innovation, perseverance, and continuous learning in the rapidly evolving technological era.

The program concluded with prize distribution to quiz winners and a vote of thanks to the PRO team and faculty members who contributed to the successful organization of the event.

An awareness program on Women’s Safety and Gender Sensitization

An awareness program on Women’s Safety and Gender Sensitization was organized on 24-12-2025 at Sri Ramakrishna Autonomous Degree College under the aegis of the Women Empowerment Cell. The program was chaired by the College Chairman Dr. Ramakrishna Reddy.

The chief guest, Sri K. Jayaramulu, Inspector of Police, Women PS, Nandyal, addressed the students and explained laws related to women’s safety, precautionary measures, and the role of women in society. He advised students to immediately contact Shakti Team (100/112) in case of any emergency and assured that police would respond within 8–15 minutes. He also cautioned students to be vigilant about cyber crimes and responsible use of modern technology.

Dr. Ramakrishna Reddy emphasized that women’s empowerment is the foundation of social development and encouraged students to move forward with confidence, awareness, and equality. He highlighted the importance of knowing emergency helpline numbers and assured full support from the college administration for women’s safety.

On this occasion, prizes were distributed to winners of elocution and debate competitions conducted as part of “Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat 2025” campaign. Shakti Team members briefed students on the Shakti App, emergency services, and solutions to issues faced by women.

Faculty members and a large number of students participated, making the program a grand success.

Selected For National Kabaddi Team:

Dudekula Hasini, a first-year B.Sc. student of Ramakrishna Degree College, has been selected for the 51st National Kabaddi Championships after delivering an impressive performance at the State Meet held in Gajuwaka near Visakhapatnam. The national-level competitions will be conducted from the 25th to the 28th of this month in West Bengal.

Hasini’s selection reflects her hard work, dedication, and commitment to the sport, bringing great pride to the college. On this occasion, the Chairman Ramakrishna Reddy, Directors, Principal, and faculty members congratulated her and wished her success in the national competitions.
