On the occasion of the commencement of the admission process for the academic year 2026–27, a special prayer ceremony was conducted with great devotion at Sri Ramakrishna Degree College (Autonomous), Nandyal.
The prayer was organized seeking the well-being, academic excellence, and bright future of the students who will be joining the college in the new academic year.
The ceremony was attended by Chairman Dr. G. Ramakrishna Reddy, Director Dr. G. Hemanth Reddy, Principal K. B. V. Subbaiah, Dean of Academics A. S. Pragathi Reddy, along with teaching and non-teaching staff members.
Speaking on the occasion, the college management stated that during the previous academic year, the Government permitted colleges to receive applications in offline mode and subsequently upload the details to the OAMDC portal. If a similar provision is extended for the academic year 2026–27, the college will accept offline applications and upload them to the portal. Otherwise, degree admissions will have to be completed only through the Government-managed OAMDC portal.
Students and parents have therefore been advised to wait until the Government issues official guidelines regarding the admission process. The management assured that students will be informed immediately once the admission procedure is announced.
It was further explained that admissions are offered under two categories: Convenor Quota and Management Quota. Fee reimbursement provided by the Government is applicable only to students admitted under the Convenor Quota.
To create awareness among Intermediate-pass students and their parents regarding degree courses, admission procedures, and other related information, a special Help Desk has been established on the college campus. Students may approach the Help Desk for clarification regarding courses, admission procedures, or any other academic information.

A grand reunion of the 1998–2001 B.Com Batch Alumni was held on Sunday at the premises of Sri Ramakrishna Degree College, Nandyal. The event was organized by the Alumni Association as part of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations, marking the completion of 25 years since the batch graduated from the institution.
The Chairman of Sri Ramakrishna Educational Institutions, Dr. G. Ramakrishna Reddy, attended the programme as the Chief Guest. He formally inaugurated the celebrations by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. G. Ramakrishna Reddy stated that it is a matter of immense pride for any educational institution and its teachers when their students attain distinguished positions in society. He congratulated the alumni who, through discipline, perseverance, and hard work, have established themselves successfully in various fields.
On this occasion, the alumni felicitated their former lecturers who had imparted knowledge, guidance, and values that laid the foundation for their success and enabled them to reach significant milestones in life. The alumni expressed their heartfelt gratitude and considered it a blessing to receive the blessings of their teachers during the Silver Jubilee celebrations.
The reunion created a festive atmosphere on the college campus as classmates met each other after nearly twenty-five years. They fondly reminisced about their college days, shared cherished memories, and enquired about each other’s well-being with great affection and enthusiasm.
The programme was attended by faculty members of Sri Ramakrishna Educational Institutions and a large number of alumni belonging to the 1998–2001 B.Com batch, making the occasion a memorable celebration of friendship, gratitude, and lifelong bonds.
A 15-day “Acharya Prashikshan” (Teacher Training Camp) organized by Vidya Bharati Andhra Pradesh with the objective of transforming teachers into ideal Acharyas was inaugurated in a highly enthusiastic and inspiring atmosphere. Eminent personalities from the field of education attended the inaugural session as chief guests and guided the participating teachers.
Speakers lauded the remarkable efforts of Vidya Bharati in preserving and imparting India’s ancient Sanatana Dharma and cultural values to the younger generation while shaping students into responsible and exemplary citizens. The training camp commenced with grandeur at the local venue on Saturday.
Highlights of the Programme
A Blend of Tradition and Discipline
Addressing the gathering, the presiding dignitary welcomed the teachers who had travelled from distant places, leaving behind their families to participate in the training. Explaining the fundamental distinction between ordinary private educational institutions and Vidya Bharati schools, he emphasized that Vidya Bharati not only imparts academic knowledge but also instills discipline, values, and cultural ethos in students. He urged teachers to work towards achieving the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) by enabling students to become self-reliant and self-sufficient.
‘Panchapadi’ – A Pathway for Holistic Student Development
The chief guest, Sri Kanna Bhaskar, highlighted the significance of the training programme. He noted that although the duration of the programme has gradually been reduced from 40 days to 20 days and now to 15 days, the knowledge and experience gained through it remain invaluable. He encouraged teachers to thoroughly learn the “Panchapadi” teaching methodology, specially designed by Vidya Bharati to foster the physical, mental, and spiritual development of students.
He further stated that Vidya Bharati is dispelling the darkness of ignorance through its network of 176 schools across the state, including single-teacher schools (Ekopadhyaya schools) functioning in remote tribal regions and coastal villages.
An Acharya Must Lead by Example
The keynote speaker, Dr. Dasmuri Umamaheswara Rao, reminded participants of the profound responsibility entrusted to teachers.
He observed, “Not every teacher becomes an Acharya. A true Acharya is one who practices and exemplifies what he or she teaches.”
Referring to an incident from the life of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, he explained how the saint first gave up his own habit of consuming sweets before advising a child to do the same, thereby demonstrating the importance of leading by personal example.
Dr. Rao further remarked that during nearly twelve centuries of foreign rule, attempts were made to weaken India’s cultural heritage, and that today’s Acharyas bear the responsibility of restoring and strengthening those cultural foundations.
Discipline as the Foundation of Society
Former Member of Parliament from Nandyal, Sri Brahmananda Reddy, stated that imparting education is the noblest form of charity, as educating an individual contributes to the progress of an entire family. He expressed concern over the declining levels of discipline in contemporary society and hoped that Vidya Bharati schools would continue to stand as symbols of discipline and value-based education.
Objectives of the Training Programme
Speakers advised the participants to focus on the following areas during the 15-day training:
KSA Model: Developing Knowledge, Skills, and a positive Attitude.
Spiritual Enrichment: Memorizing the 33 verses of the Ekatmata Stotram and understanding the objectives of Vidya Bharati.
Moral Education: Eliminating negative traits such as ego and ostentation while nurturing divine qualities among students.
Technology and Tradition: Embracing modern technological advancements without neglecting India’s rich cultural traditions.
Brief Address by Sri Ramakrishna Reddy
Sri Ramakrishna Reddy extended his greetings to the distinguished guests on the dais and to all the participating Acharyas.
He warmly welcomed the teachers who had left their families to dedicate themselves to the noble mission of shaping the future of the nation.
He emphasized three important points:
1. An Acharya Must Be a Role Model
Vidya Bharati is not merely about classroom instruction but about imparting values. The distinguishing factor between Vidya Bharati institutions and ordinary schools lies in their commitment to samskara (value-based education). Teachers must practice what they teach, thereby becoming true Acharyas.
2. NEP and Self-Reliance
The objective of the National Education Policy is to enable students to stand on their own feet. Teachers have the responsibility to instill confidence in students and prepare them to become independent and capable individuals.
3. Dedicated Participation in Training
He urged the participants to engage in the training programme with concentration, patience, and commitment, and to implement the lessons learned during the camp in their respective schools, thereby fulfilling the vision and mission of Vidya Bharati.
Concluding his address, he wished all participants success in completing the training programme and contributing meaningfully to the advancement of value-based education.
Sri Ramakrishna Educational Institutions had the distinct honor of receiving a special invitation to participate in the 100th Annual General Body Meeting (AGBM) and Vice-Chancellors’ National Conference organized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), one of the most prominent bodies representing universities across India.

Representing the institution, Chairman Dr. G. Ramakrishna Reddy attended the conference and actively participated in discussions with Vice-Chancellors, academicians, policymakers, and representatives from universities across the country on various aspects of higher education development.
The conference featured extensive deliberations on key issues such as enhancing quality in higher education, implementing innovative educational policies, promoting research and development, leveraging digital learning resources, strengthening industry–academia collaboration, and improving students’ employability and skill development. Participants also shared experiences and best practices adopted by universities nationwide.

The conference witnessed the participation of Vice-Chancellors, education experts, and administrative representatives from numerous universities across the country, who shared their perspectives and recommendations aimed at ensuring comprehensive growth and excellence in the higher education sector.
As part of the Bharat Environment Programme 2026, an awareness programme on Solar Energy, Green Campus Audit, and Rainwater Harvesting was successfully organized under the auspices of the NSS Unit of Sri Ramakrishna Degree College (Autonomous), Nandyal.
On this occasion, Dr. G. Hemanth Reddy, Director of the College, participated in the programme and explained the various Green Campus Audit initiatives being implemented at the institution. He stated that the use of BLDC (Brushless Direct Current) fans helps save nearly 70% of electricity consumption. The college has replaced conventional fans, which generally consume 60–75 watts of power, with energy-efficient fans that consume only 30–35 watts.
He further informed that the college has adopted LED tube lights and floodlights to reduce electricity consumption. In addition, the institution is utilizing 100-watt solar units to harness renewable energy. The solar power generated is being used in classrooms, hostels, laboratories, and stadium facilities, thereby supporting environmentally sustainable practices.
Furthermore, the college has established rainwater harvesting systems through soak pits to conserve rainwater. An STP (Sewage Treatment Plant) has also been installed to treat wastewater generated from the hostel premises.
To further reduce energy consumption, the college has replaced old CRT monitors in laboratories with energy-efficient LED monitors. The Director also explained that Student Citizenship Behaviour (SCB) activities are being conducted regularly to promote environmental awareness and responsible citizenship among students.
During the programme, awareness was also created regarding the solar energy schemes introduced by the Central Government. NSS volunteers delivered speeches highlighting the importance of solar energy and emphasized the need to adopt renewable energy resources for a sustainable future.
The students enthusiastically participated in the programme and recognized their responsibility towards environmental conservation.

As part of the Bharat Environment Programme 2026, the NSS Unit of Sri Ramakrishna Degree College (Autonomous), Nandyal, successfully organized a Community Outreach Programme today at the Nandyal Municipal Park.
Under the guidance of Chairman Dr. G. Ramakrishna Reddy and Director Dr. G. Hemanth Reddy, NSS volunteers undertook a “Clean and Green” campaign in the park premises and cleaned the surroundings. They also created awareness among the public about environmental conservation and emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness.
The programme was conducted under the supervision of NSS Programme Officers Mrs. M. Sravani Kumari and Mr. T. Madhava Reddy. The volunteers participated enthusiastically and set an example for the community through their dedicated service.

As part of the Bharat Environment Programme – Earth Week Celebrations, a Sustainability Awareness Programme was organized on the third day of the celebrations under the aegis of NSS Units 2 & 3 of Sri Ramakrishna Degree College (Autonomous), Nandyal. The programme was conducted as per the guidance of Chairman Prof. G. Ramakrishna Reddy and under the supervision of Director Dr. G. Hemanth Reddy.
On this occasion, NSS volunteers actively participated and prepared PowerPoint presentations on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which they presented before the gathering. The students explained major environmental issues affecting the world and suggested suitable solutions to address them. They also highlighted the responsibilities of individuals in contributing towards a sustainable future.
The programme was organized under the supervision of NSS Programme Officers Mrs. Sravani Kumari and Mr. T. Madhava Reddy. They encouraged students to be responsible stewards of the environment and to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives.
The NSS Programme Officers appreciated the enthusiasm, creativity, and dedication displayed by the volunteers. An awareness programme on the occasion of World Earth Day was organized today at Sri Ramakrishna Degree College.
The programme was presided over by the Chairman of the college, Professor Dr. Ramakrishna Reddy.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ramakrishna Reddy stated that the Earth is our mother and nature is our source of life; therefore, it is our responsibility to protect them. Conserving nature is one of our fundamental duties.
He explained that Indian culture reveres Mother Earth (Bhoomatha) and Mother Cow (Gomatha), and there is a traditional saying that a nation where they are protected and prosper is considered a blessed land. Every nation, he said, should safeguard Mother Earth and Mother Cow and ensure that the Earth remains free from pollution.
He pointed out that excessive use of plastics, indiscriminate felling of trees, overuse of chemical fertilizers, destruction of water bodies, and unregulated exploitation of natural resources such as sand are reducing soil fertility and agricultural productivity. If crop production fails to meet the needs of the growing population, food scarcity may arise. Therefore, he emphasized the need to protect the Earth, conserve forests, and preserve nature. He further noted that animals and birds are also integral components of the natural ecosystem.
Dr. Ramakrishna Reddy highlighted that the practice of worshipping Mother Earth and Mother Cow in Indian culture reflects profound scientific wisdom. Recognizing the importance of protecting the Earth and conserving nature, the United Nations declared April 22 as World Earth Day, which is now observed by 193 countries worldwide, including India.
He stated that the programme was organized to create awareness among students and encouraged every student to take responsibility for protecting nature. He remarked that if every individual plants one tree, India could nurture 1.4 billion trees and become greener and more prosperous. He concluded his speech with the message: “Let us love nature, protect the Earth, and remember that planting a tree means safeguarding the future.”
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal of the college, K.B.V. Subbaiah, said that protecting the Earth and preserving nature is everyone’s responsibility. He stressed that negligence towards the environment is unacceptable and that preserving our rich natural heritage for future generations is an urgent necessity.
He further stated that such programmes help students develop environmental awareness, foster social responsibility, and contribute to the nation’s progress.

Faculty members Mrs. Ratna Ramireddy, Mr. Sadiq, Mrs. Karuna, Mrs. Sravan Kumari, and Mrs. Prathyusha highlighted the importance of creativity, critical thinking, sustainable innovations, and the effective use of emerging technologies. They emphasized that artificial intelligence tools such as ChatGPT and Gemini should serve as learning aids rather than substitutes for human intelligence.
Addressing the gathering, College Director Dr. G. Hemanth Reddy stated that creativity and innovation are essential for societal progress and urged students to move beyond rote learning to develop problem-solving abilities. He encouraged them to utilize the college’s Innovation Center, think creatively to address real-world challenges, and strive to become job creators rather than job seekers.
The programme was coordinated by Placement Officer M. Imtiaz Ahmed with the active support of the faculty members. The event concluded successfully with the singing of the National Anthem, leaving students inspired to pursue innovation and lifelong learning.
