International Anti-Corruption Day was observed on Tuesday at the local Sri Ramakrishna Degree College. The programme was attended by College Director Sri G. Hemanth Reddy as the chief guest, with Ms. Karuna, Ms. Pratyusha, and Mr. Mohan Rao presiding over the event. A large number of students participated in the programme.

The event began with the welcoming of faculty members onto the dais, followed by student speeches. Addressing the gathering, Director Sri G. Hemanth Reddy explained that corruption is not limited to monetary transactions in government offices but also includes unethical practices such as getting one’s work done through others. He emphasized that corruption begins unknowingly from an early age and cited examples like marking attendance for absent students as forms of corruption. He clarified that citizens have the right to get government work done without paying bribes, as officials are already paid salaries by the government. He urged students to be aware of anti-corruption laws, avoid corruption in their personal conduct, and report corrupt practices to concerned authorities. He expressed hope that the awareness programme would bring positive change.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Karuna stated that corruption is a crime in which everyone is, directly or indirectly, involved. She stressed the need for collective efforts to eradicate corruption and to create awareness among those who are unaware. She noted that while talking about corruption is easy, eliminating it is difficult and requires honesty, responsibility, education, and strong values.

Mr. Mohan Rao, in his address, stated that corruption has existed since ancient times in various visible and invisible forms within human society. He emphasized the importance of integrity, ethical behavior, and consideration for others in daily life. He appreciated the students for actively participating and sharing their views on moral and social values.

The programme concluded with the National Anthem.

With the objective of building an inclusive digital society, World Computer Literacy Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on December 2 under the auspices of the Department of Computer Science. The programme was held with the slogan “Digital Light for Every Home” and was attended by College Director Sri G. Hemanth Reddy as the chief guest. The main aim of the event was to spread awareness about the importance of digital literacy, especially to equip youth and people from rural areas with effective computer and internet skills.

Faculty member of the Computer Science Department, Sri Venkat Rao, explained the historical background of the day and highlighted the growing need for digital skills. A large number of faculty members and students from the department participated in the programme.

Addressing the gathering, chief guest Sri G. Hemanth Reddy emphasized that computer knowledge is not only a present-day necessity but also the foundation for talent and opportunities. He stated that every citizen should strive to acquire basic technological knowledge to reduce the digital divide. He added that the use of computers is not limited to software jobs alone but has brought revolutionary changes in all sectors, from agriculture to healthcare, warning that failure to adopt technology may lead to being left behind.

Following his address, a “Digital Skills Training” programme was launched in association with students and faculty, through which at least 500 people will be trained in basic computer and internet usage. Participants pledged to contribute towards promoting digital literacy. The celebration served not only as an observance but also as an inspiration for the nation’s progress in the digital era.

Addressing the gathering, chief guest Dr. C. Madhu sudan Rao stated that AIDS is still surrounded by many misconceptions and fears. He emphasized that with proper precautions, awareness, and timely medical testing, the disease can be effectively controlled. He advised students to take care of their health and urged everyone to act as awareness ambassadors to eliminate misconceptions about AIDS in society.

Dr. Madhu Sudan Rao also highlighted the growing negligence among youth and stressed the importance of adopting a safe and responsible lifestyle.

Addressing the gathering, Chairman Dr. G. Ramakrishna Reddy stated that the fight against AIDS is not limited to the medical field but is a social responsibility. He urged college students to cultivate human values along with academics and to organize awareness programmes on AIDS in villages and towns.

He advised students to follow moral values, maintain discipline, remain alert about diseases like AIDS, and stay away from bad habits and substance abuse. He emphasized that prevention is better than cure and called upon students to avoid antisocial and immoral activities. He encouraged students to grow into responsible citizens and spread awareness about AIDS among people around them by educating them on preventive measures.

Stressing the message, “This life belongs to all of us, and there is no place for AIDS in it,” he urged students to break the silence, speak openly about HIV/AIDS without fear, and promote blood donation.

Dr. Ramakrishna Reddy also informed that the college would conduct extensive health awareness programme for students. He expressed gratitude to the chief guest, Dr. Madhu sudan Rao, for providing valuable insights and a clear understanding of AIDS through an effective PowerPoint presentation and for answering students’ questions in detail.

The programme was attended by eminent physician Dr. Gelivi Sahadevudu as the chief guest. The event began with introductory addresses, followed by a formal welcome of the chief guest and other dignitaries onto the dais. The dais was graced by SRKDC Director Sri G. Hemanth Reddy, NSS Programme Officers Mrs. Sravani Kumari and Madhav Reddy, and Mr. Venkat Rao.

After the prayer song, student speeches were held, during which they shared their views on the importance of dharma and leading a moral life, strongly emphasizing the message that prevention is better than cure. Faculty members then addressed the gathering, with Mr. Venkat Rao providing comprehensive awareness on AIDS and stressing the importance of enhancing knowledge through such programmes.

Later, Director Sri G. Hemanth Reddy spoke about HIV and AIDS, reaffirming the college’s commitment to social service. He informed that the college regularly provides essential items every month to HIV-affected patients and encouraged students to gain knowledge on social issues and spread awareness in society.

Chief guest Dr. Gelivi Sahadevudu addressed the gathering, beginning his lecture by highlighting the concept of dharma, noting that the day also coincided with Gita Jayanti. He described HIV as a deceptive disease and explained AIDS through an informative PowerPoint presentation. He stated that the red ribbon is the global symbol of HIV and AIDS and cited statistics showing that nearly 40 million people worldwide are living with HIV/AIDS. He explained the history, structure, and modes of transmission of HIV, including infected blood transfusions, sharing of syringes, and transmission from mother to child. He expressed concern that today’s generation often runs after attractive appearances while ignoring good hearts.

Constitution Day (Samvidhan Diwas) was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the local Sri Ramakrishna Degree College. The Chairman of Sri Ramakrishna Educational Institutions, Prof. G. Ramakrishna Reddy, attended the programme as the chief guest.

The event began with an introductory address, followed by the welcome of guests. After the prayer song rendered by students, the chief guest and dignitaries paid floral tributes to the statue of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. Students and faculty members spoke about the importance of Constitution Day, fundamental rights, and the significance of the Indian Constitution.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. G. Ramakrishna Reddy highlighted the key features and history of the Constitution and advised students, especially those preparing for civil services, to gain thorough knowledge of it. He emphasized social values, equality, fraternity, and national unity. He also led students in reading the Preamble of the Constitution.

Union Bank of India & SRKDC Organize Vigilance Awareness Programme

On the occasion of Vigilance Awareness Week, Union Bank of India, in collaboration with Sri Ramakrishna Degree College (SRKDC), organized an Essay Writing Competition to promote awareness on transparency and vigilance.

The programme was attended by Prof. G. Ramakrishna Reddy, Chairman of SRKDC; Sri P. Narasimha Rao, AGM & Regional Head, Union Bank of India, Kurnool; Sri G. Rajasekhar, Chief Manager; Sri K. Srikanth Reddy, Chief Manager & Branch Head; Sri P. Diveez, Branch Manager, SRKDC Branch; and Ms. A.S. Pragathi, Dean of Academics.

Addressing the students, bank officials emphasized the importance of vigilance and anti-corruption practices, highlighting the role of students as future responsible citizens. The Chairman congratulated the participants and appreciated Union Bank of India for encouraging student initiatives and start-ups.

Prizes and certificates were awarded to ten students who excelled in the competition. The dignitaries were felicitated as per college tradition.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks, followed by the National Anthem.

AI Hackathon 2025 Successfully Held at Sri Ramakrishna Degree College
The AI Hackathon 2025, recently conducted on the campus of Sri Ramakrishna Degree College (SRKDC), achieved remarkable success. A total of 33 teams enthusiastically participated in the hackathon and presented innovative ideas.

First Round Theme: AI solutions for students and campus needs.
Selected Teams: 7 teams that demonstrated exceptional talent in the first round qualified for the next round.
Final Round Theme: AI on environment and sustainability.
In the final round, participating teams presented prototypes showcasing how the environment can be protected and impressively demonstrated their ideas.
Out of these 7 teams, 4 teams emerged as winners.

🗣️ Program Highlights
The Chairman of Sri Ramakrishna Degree College, Professor G. Ramakrishna Reddy, attended the event as the Chief Guest. The hackathon commenced with his address, followed by student presentations.
While speaking, the Chairman congratulated the students and encouraged them to become part of the SRKDC Incubation Center. He assured that if students come forward with innovative ideas, the college would extend full support to help them establish startups. He appreciated and congratulated all the participants.
The idea behind organizing this AI Hackathon was conceptualized by SRKDC Dean of Academics, Pragathi Madam, who created awareness about AI among students and faculty. This idea was further implemented with the support of Mrs. M. Shravanikumar and Imtiyaz Ahmed, along with the faculty team.
After the distribution of prizes and certificates, the program concluded with a vote of thanks. The event ended with the rendition of the National Anthem.

Under the visionary leadership of the Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, and the guidance of the Honorable Minister for Tribal Affairs Shri Jual Oram, these programs are fostering a stronger sense of unity, empowerment, and pride across the nation.On this occasion, the Chairman, Shri Ramakrishna Reddy, addressed the gathering and highlighted the sacrifices, fighting spirit, and remarkable efforts of Birsa Munda in safeguarding the rights of tribal communities. Sri Ramakrishna Degree College (A), Nandyal organized a motivational webinar on “How to Crack UPSC” on 10-11-2025 through Zoom, informed College Chairman Dr. G. Ramakrishna Reddy. The session was delivered by Sri Akhilesh Jha, Retired IPS Officer, President’s Police Medal awardee, and author of the “Success Mantra” series for UPSC/PCS aspirants.

Addressing the students, Dr. G. Ramakrishna Reddy emphasized the importance of clear goal-setting, discipline, time management, and consistent hard work to succeed in national-level competitive examinations like UPSC. He stated that such webinars act as valuable guidance platforms for students.

As the chief guest, Sri Akhilesh Jha explained the UPSC examination structure, including Prelims, Mains, and Interview, marking scheme, and optional subject selection. He motivated students to uphold values of ethical governance, civic responsibility, and dedication towards nation-building.
