234th Birth Anniversary of Charles Babbage

The 234th birth anniversary of Charles Babbage, the Father of Computers, was celebrated grandly on Friday, 26-12-2025, at Sri Ramakrishna Degree and PG College (Autonomous), Nandyal. The program was jointly organized by the Department of Computer Science and Applications along with students and faculty.

The event was attended by the College Director Sri G. Hemanth Reddy and Principal Sri K. B. V. Subbaiah. Faculty members and students paid floral tributes to the portrait of Charles Babbage.

As part of the celebrations, quiz competitions and PowerPoint presentations were conducted. Faculty members highlighted Charles Babbage’s contributions to modern computing, including his visionary concepts and inventions such as the Difference Engine and Analytical Engine, which laid the foundation for today’s computer technology.

Addressing the gathering, Principal Sri K. B. V. Subbaiah emphasized that although Babbage’s machines could not be fully built due to technical and financial limitations, his ideas on input, output, memory, and processing guided future generations. He stated that modern computers, smartphones, and artificial intelligence are outcomes of Babbage’s far-sighted vision.

Head of the Department Sri S. Venkata Rao encouraged students to draw inspiration from Babbage’s life, stressing innovation, perseverance, and continuous learning in the rapidly evolving technological era.

The program concluded with prize distribution to quiz winners and a vote of thanks to the PRO team and faculty members who contributed to the successful organization of the event.

An awareness program on Women’s Safety and Gender Sensitization

An awareness program on Women’s Safety and Gender Sensitization was organized on 24-12-2025 at Sri Ramakrishna Autonomous Degree College under the aegis of the Women Empowerment Cell. The program was chaired by the College Chairman Dr. Ramakrishna Reddy.

The chief guest, Sri K. Jayaramulu, Inspector of Police, Women PS, Nandyal, addressed the students and explained laws related to women’s safety, precautionary measures, and the role of women in society. He advised students to immediately contact Shakti Team (100/112) in case of any emergency and assured that police would respond within 8–15 minutes. He also cautioned students to be vigilant about cyber crimes and responsible use of modern technology.

Dr. Ramakrishna Reddy emphasized that women’s empowerment is the foundation of social development and encouraged students to move forward with confidence, awareness, and equality. He highlighted the importance of knowing emergency helpline numbers and assured full support from the college administration for women’s safety.

On this occasion, prizes were distributed to winners of elocution and debate competitions conducted as part of “Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat 2025” campaign. Shakti Team members briefed students on the Shakti App, emergency services, and solutions to issues faced by women.

Faculty members and a large number of students participated, making the program a grand success.

Selected For National Kabaddi Team:

Dudekula Hasini, a first-year B.Sc. student of Ramakrishna Degree College, has been selected for the 51st National Kabaddi Championships after delivering an impressive performance at the State Meet held in Gajuwaka near Visakhapatnam. The national-level competitions will be conducted from the 25th to the 28th of this month in West Bengal.

Hasini’s selection reflects her hard work, dedication, and commitment to the sport, bringing great pride to the college. On this occasion, the Chairman Ramakrishna Reddy, Directors, Principal, and faculty members congratulated her and wished her success in the national competitions.

Speaking on the occasion, Hasini expressed her gratitude to the college management, faculty, and Nandyal District Kabaddi Association Secretary Subrahmanyam for their constant support and encouragement.

Campus Placement Drive held at Sri Ramakrishna Degree College; 33 students selected

A Campus Placement Drive was successfully conducted at Sri Ramakrishna Degree College (Autonomous), Nandyal, under the joint initiative of VERTEX Group and MeedenLabs, said College Chairman Dr. G. Ramakrishna Reddy.

Out of 98 candidates who participated in the drive, 48 were shortlisted for the second round after multiple selection stages, and 33 candidates were finally selected. The selected candidates will receive a monthly salary of ₹22,000 (CTC) along with bonuses and travelling allowance, as announced by the organizers.

The event was attended by Dr. G. Ramakrishna Reddy, Chairman, and Principal K.B.V. Subbayya. On behalf of the college management, representatives of VERTEX Group and MeedenLabs were felicitated for successfully conducting the placement drive.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. G. Ramakrishna Reddy stated that the college’s primary goal is to provide quality education and employment opportunities, especially to students from rural backgrounds, and assured that more reputed companies will be invited in the future.

Representing VERTEX Group, Mr. S. Anush (Chief Staff), and from MeedenLabs, Mr. Subhash (General Manager) and Mr. Vasu (Assistant Manager) briefed students about industry requirements and job opportunities.

The MEPMA–NIPUNA Mega Job Fair was successfully organized on Saturday at the premises of Sri Ramakrishna PG College, Nandyal, with the objective of providing employment opportunities to unemployed youth. The program was jointly conducted by MEPMA and NIPUNA.

The job fair was inaugurated by TDP State Youth Leader Mr. N.M.D. Fayaz, along with Dr. G. Ramakrishna Reddy, Chairman of Ramakrishna Educational Institutions, and MEPMA PD Mr. Venkata Das, by lighting the ceremonial lamp.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. N.M.D. Fayaz advised youth to utilize available job opportunities in today’s competitive world and emphasized the importance of skill development, confidence, and continuous learning to succeed in the corporate sector. He appreciated the efforts of MEPMA and NIPUNA for bringing multiple multinational companies onto a single platform and wished success to the candidates.

Dr. G. Awareness Session on Internships

Sri Ramakrishna Degree College, Nandyal, organized a special awareness session on Skill Development and Internships for students on Tuesday. The event was graced by Prof. G. Ramakrishna Reddy and G. Hemant Reddy as chief guests.

Dr. N. Deepika, a resource person with 13 years of experience in startups, entrepreneurship, business consulting, and academics, addressed the students. She explained how SkillDash provides internship opportunities to students and highlighted that the platform is registered with APSCHE and AICTE. She emphasized that BBA students can choose internships from various e-commerce companies, which last for six months, and successful completion provides certificates that significantly enhance future employment opportunities.

The program concluded with Dr. N. Deepika being felicitated by the college management and chief guests. Faculty members and a large number of students actively participated in the session.

“Vijay Divas”

Local Sri Ramakrishna Degree College organized a program titled “Vijay Divas” today, Tuesday. The chief guest for the event was Mr. N. Chinna Ranganayakulu (Nandyal Chief Union President and Ex-Army). The program was presided over by College Chairman Prof. G. Ramakrishna Reddy and Director G. Hemant Reddy, with Ms. Lakshmi Durga and Ms. Karuna also in attendance. The event began with a prayer song and a welcome dance.

During his address, Mr. N. Chinna Ranganayakulu spoke about the progress India has made over the years and encouraged students to grow as responsible citizens and researchers. He highlighted the importance of training, discipline, and opportunities provided by institutions like NCC. He also shared his experiences serving in challenging regions such as Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir and emphasized perseverance, dedication, and practical training for future success.

Prof. G. Ramakrishna Reddy encouraged students to serve the nation selflessly, uphold social values, and maintain unity across communities. Ms. Lakshmi Durga emphasized respect, integrity, and working hard to achieve one’s goals. Ms. Karuna urged students to continue striving to realize their potential.

The college felicitated Mr. N. Chinna Ranganayakulu for his presence, and the event concluded with the national anthem.

International Human Rights Day

International Human Rights Day was successfully observed today at the local Sri Ramakrishna Degree College. The programme was attended by the Chief Guest, Nandyal District Additional Police Superintendent Sri N. Yugendra Babu. The college Chairman, Prof. G. Ramakrishna Reddy, and Director Sri G. Hemanth Reddy were present on the dais. The event was conducted by Commerce and Management Assistant Professor Sri M. Intiaz Ahmad.

The programme began with an introduction to Human Rights Day, followed by a prayer song. Student speeches highlighted the history and significance of Human Rights Day. Faculty members then addressed the gathering. Mrs. M. Ratnareddy explained the origin of human rights, while Director Sri G. Hemanth Reddy spoke on the rules and responsible use of social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube. He emphasized that while social media can be informative, excessive use for entertainment can be harmful, and understanding terms and conditions is a fundamental right.

Chief Guest Sri N. Yugendra Babu detailed the history of human rights, explaining that equal rights were not available to all in the past. He discussed the United Nations, its charter, and how fundamental rights are enshrined in the Constitution. He encouraged students to be responsible, study diligently, and aim for success.

The Chairman praised the Chief Guest’s guidance and highlighted the importance of balancing rights and responsibilities. He urged students to contribute to a society where policing is less needed, emphasized the value of voting, and explained that violations of human rights can be reported to the National Human Rights Commission. He also highlighted that human rights are clearly defined across 30 articles.

The programme concluded with the National Anthem. Students were reminded to act responsibly, focus on their careers, respect parental efforts in their education, and develop awareness about both rights and duties. The session aimed to inspire students to think positively and make constructive contributions to society.

An awareness seminar on “Industrial Establishment and Self-Employment”

An awareness seminar on “Industrial Establishment and Self-Employment” was conducted under the auspices of the local Sri Ramakrishna Degree College. Addressing the gathering, MSME Assistant Director Sri D. Veeraiah emphasized that students should develop an understanding of entrepreneurship at the student stage itself. He encouraged students to aim at establishing their own industries after completing their education and assured support from the MSME department and the District Industries Department.

District Industries Centre (DIC) Officer and General Manager Sri S. M. Bhasha explained various government schemes and advised students to approach the DIC for setting up selected industries. He informed that subsidized loans can be availed under the PMEGP scheme.

The programme was attended by Sri Ramakrishna Degree & PG College Chairman Sri Ramakrishna Reddy and Principal Dr. Subbaiah. AP State Skill Development District Manager Sri Srikanth Reddy spoke about skill training and motivation. Entrepreneur Sri Harinath, founder of Prakruthi Millets Company, shared insights on successful entrepreneurship. College faculty and others participated in the awareness seminar.
