National-Level “Tech Fest” Inaugurated Grandly at Sri Ramakrishna Degree College

A prestigious national-level “Tech Fest” was inaugurated with great enthusiasm on Monday at Sri Ramakrishna Degree College, Nandyal. The event was organized to provide a platform for students to showcase their hidden creativity and enhance their technological knowledge and skills.

The program was formally inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Prof. V. Venkata Basava Rao, who lit the ceremonial lamp. The audience was delighted by a welcome dance performance presented by the girl students. The dignitaries seated on the dais included Prof. G. Ramakrishna Reddy, Chairman of the College, K.B.V. Subbaiah, Principal, G. Hemanth Reddy, Director, and faculty members M. Vijay Kanth and G. Mohan Muralidhar.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. G. Ramakrishna Reddy (Chairman) emphasized that students should not limit themselves to textbook knowledge alone but should acquire new skills that align with the rapidly changing world. G. Hemanth Reddy (Director) highlighted the significance of the Science Fest by recalling the discovery of the Raman Effect by Sir C. V. Raman on February 28. He encouraged students to draw inspiration from this Nobel Prize-winning discovery and demonstrate their own talents and innovative abilities.

In his keynote address, Prof. V. Venkata Basava Rao, the Chief Guest, praised the students for being part of one of the finest educational institutions in the Nandyal district. He particularly emphasized the following points:

Seminar on Women Empowerment

On the occasion of International Women’s Day celebrations, a special awareness seminar was organized for students on Monday at Sri Ramakrishna Degree College, Nandyal. The seminar was conducted under the auspices of the Women Empowerment Organization and primarily focused on the theme of “Self-Employment.”

Mrs. Lavanya Ramani attended the event as the Chief Guest. The seminar was held under the chairmanship of Prof. G. Ramakrishna Reddy, Chairman of the College. Ratna Madam, Lalitha Saraswathi Madam, Karuna Madam, faculty members, and a large number of students participated in the program.

Valedictory Ceremony of 30-Day Python Certificate Course

The valedictory ceremony of a 30-day Python Certificate Course आयोजित for B.Com students was held successfully at Sri Ramakrishna Autonomous Degree College, Nandyal, in collaboration with the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC).

APSSDC Manager Srikant Reddy attended as the chief guest and congratulated the students. He highlighted the importance of Python programming in the digital era and stated that the skills acquired would enhance students’ future employment opportunities.

On this occasion, the trainer Bhavana, who conducted the training for 30 days, was felicitated by the college management for providing practical and comprehensive training. The APSSDC Manager was also honored as a token of gratitude.

Free Week-long Training Program

A week-long free training program on soft skills for final-year degree students was inaugurated at Sri Ramakrishna Autonomous Degree College (SBI Colony Campus), Nandyal. The program is being conducted by Nandi Foundation in collaboration with Mahindra Pride Classrooms to enhance students’ employability skills.

Speaking on the occasion, Placement Officer M. Imtiaz Ahmed emphasized the importance of communication skills, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities in today’s corporate world. He encouraged students to make the best use of the training provided by expert trainers from Hyderabad.

International Mother Language Day

The International Mother Language Day program was grandly organized on 21-02-2026 at Sri Ramakrishna Autonomous Degree College under the auspices of the Telugu Department. The event aimed to instill awareness among students about the importance of the mother tongue and the need to preserve languages. A large number of students attended the program held on the college campus.

The program was presided over by Dr. G. Ramakrishna Reddy, Chairman of Ramakrishna Educational Institutions. In his address, he stated that the mother tongue is the foundation of our thoughts and the most natural medium for expressing emotions. He emphasized that when education is imparted in the mother tongue, students not only understand concepts better but also develop creativity.

He further said that the youth should take pride in the rich history and literary heritage of the Telugu language, read the biographies of great personalities, and cultivate the habit of reading books. He also mentioned that the National Education Policy 2020 gives greater importance to mother tongues, literature, arts, and regional art forms.

Inspirational Speeches by Chief Guests

The chief guest of the program was Dr. Gelivi Sahadevu, a prominent doctor from Nandyal and President of Surana Saraswata Sangham. In his speech, he said that due to the impact of globalization many languages are gradually disappearing, and in such circumstances protecting the mother tongue has become the responsibility of every citizen. He explained that culture survives only when language survives, and society remains strong when culture is preserved.

He encouraged students to read classical Telugu works such as the poems of Vemana, Sumati Satakam, and Krishna Satakam, memorize verses, and develop an interest in Telugu literature. He added that Telugu is a language suitable for speech, song, poetry, and classical verse.

Another chief guest, noted advocate and President of Sahiti Sravanti M. Srinivasa Murthy, stated that the Telugu language possesses immense literary wealth and has the ability to express emotions in a deeply touching manner. He advised students to learn English but not neglect their mother tongue, and to use Telugu in their daily lives. He also emphasized that schools and colleges should give greater importance to the Telugu language.

College Principal K. B. V. Subbaiah spoke about the significance of International Mother Language Day and urged students to recognize the simplicity and sweetness of their mother tongue.

Faculty member A. S. Pragathi encouraged students to appreciate the importance of their mother language while also mastering global languages like English. She noted that mother tongues are closest to our natural expressions, and our true emotions are often conveyed most naturally in them. She advised students not to forget their native language while learning English for employment opportunities.

The organizers stated that such programs are being conducted to increase awareness and interest among students regarding the importance of the mother tongue.

The speeches and discussions on the importance of the Telugu language during the event created meaningful awareness among students and inspired them to think about language preservation.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti

The Jayanti celebrations of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj were held with great grandeur on Thursday at Sri Ramakrishna Degree College, Nandyal. College Principal K.V.V. Subbaiah attended the program as the chief guest. A large number of faculty members and students participated in the event.

The program began with the dignitaries paying floral tributes to the portrait of Shivaji Maharaj. Later, students delivered speeches highlighting the life and achievements of Shivaji Maharaj.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal K.V.V. Subbaiah praised Shivaji Maharaj, who established the Maratha Empire in the 17th century, as a remarkable administrator. He mentioned that Shivaji Maharaj was crowned as Chhatrapati at Raigad in 1674 and that he had great respect for women. He called upon the younger generation to take inspiration from his courage and determination.

M. Inthiyaz Ahmed explained that Shivaji Maharaj aspired for self-rule (Swarajya). He recalled that Shivaji introduced the Ashtapradhan system (a council of eight ministers) for effective governance. He also noted that Shivaji Maharaj’s efforts for religious harmony and the protection of women’s rights are unforgettable.

Sravani Kumari stated that the great personality of Shivaji Maharaj was shaped by the upbringing of his mother Jijabai, whose values and guidance helped mold him into a great leader. She encouraged students to follow his ideals and strive to achieve great heights. She also mentioned that Shivaji Maharaj passed away at Raigad Fort in 1680, but his glory and legacy remain immortal.

An awareness seminar titled “Financial Literacy – Smart Investment Awareness Program” was successfully organized at Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Investor Protection Fund in collaboration with Sri Ramakrishna Degree College. The speakers explained that earning money alone is not enough; saving and investing it in the right avenues can help achieve financial independence in the future.

To reduce investment risk, they advised students not to invest all their money in a single option but to diversify across fixed deposits, equity, mutual funds, and gold.

Investment Planning Based on Time Horizon:
Investments were categorized into three types based on duration:

The Jayanti celebrations of the spiritual guru Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa were observed with great devotion on Wednesday at Sri Ramakrishna Degree College, Nandyal. G. Hemanth Reddy (College Director), speaking on the occasion, said that the teachings of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa serve as a guiding light for today’s youth. He emphasized that inner clarity is more important than external challenges. He advised students to respect the rich heritage and traditions passed down by our ancestors. Instead of comparing themselves with others, students should live according to their own individuality. He added that while dreaming is important, putting those dreams into action is even more important, and work done with sincerity and dedication brings fulfillment in life.

Ratna Reddy stated that India has the unique honor of introducing spirituality to the world. He said that true peace can be attained through self-control and by staying away from unnecessary desires. He advised students to avoid wrong paths and follow the ideals of great personalities to achieve a respectable position in society.

Sravani Kumari said that Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa spent his entire life in deep spiritual contemplation. She added that by following the path shown by him, Swami Vivekananda became globally renowned. She noted that his life and teachings remain an inspiration to everyone.

M. Inthiyaz Ahmed said that this day is one of the important occasions we should remember in life. As a teacher, he highlighted the valuable principle taught by Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa: “First practice what you preach before advising others.” He added that the future of students largely depends on the conduct and character of their teachers

An NSS (National Service Scheme) Awareness Program was organized grandly at Sri Ramakrishna Degree and PG College, Nandyal. Nandyal RDO C. Viswanth attended the event as the Chief Guest. The program was presided over by the College Principal and Chairman.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest C. Viswanth shared his childhood memories with the students. He stated that his interest in social service from a young age helped him reach his present position. He advised students that by participating in social service activities along with their studies, they can develop leadership qualities, a sense of responsibility, and a spirit of service. He explained that NSS provides a great platform for students to connect with society.

Similarly, the Rayalaseema University District Coordinator explained the rules, regulations, and guidelines related to NSS activities.
